Detailed Description

Makaha Valley This heiau was built between the 11th and 12th century as a place of refuge. The heiau is 150 feet long and 35 feet wide. There are three platforms that are surrounded on three side by the ocean. Located at Kaneilio Point on theWai'anae Coast, this heiau is currently under renovation.

Directions:
Take H1 West bound until it turns into Farrington Highway. Turn left onto Waianae Valley Road. The Heiau lies along the Leeward Coast to Kane'ilio Point at the southwest end of Pokai Bay Beach in Waianae. It is an easy walk from the parking lot to the heiau location.
