This is a beautiful trail with views of the Kaena Cliffs, Silk Oak, and Swamp Mahogany. Finishing with a spectacular view of Makua valley.

Directions:

From Waikiki: Take H1 west bound. Take H2 north. H2 will will deadend at Kaukonahua Road. Follow signs toward Mokuleia. After you see Dillingham Airfield on the right. Turn right through a gate at the west end and the airfield. Follow the signs to the trail head. (Note: the gates are locked over night.)

Safety Tips for Hiking:
  • Inform a friend of your route and your expected time of return.
  • Never hike alone or go beyond your capability
  • Always bring water, basic first aid kit and rain gear, just in case.
  • Do not drink stream water which contains biological impurities
  • STAY ON THE TRAIL.
