Detailed Description
Highway 450
East Molokai
This unusual outcropping of lava rock appears to resemble a dragon's tail. The rocks are jagged and weave back and forth for several hundred yards out into the Pailolo Channel. This entire area is noted for its wonderful snorkeling and scuba diving due to a large offshore reef that extends along most of the coast.
Directions:
Take Highway 450 east out of Kaunakakai going toward Halawa Valley. Dragon's Tail is located on the right side of the road near Mile Marker #20.
Useful Information:
Great views of the ocean and Lanai across the channel
Use extreme caution if entering the ocean as strong currents and high surf may be present
No lifeguards, facilities, or town located anywhere nearby
