The air may be filled with mist as you walk to the base of the mossy grotto at the foot of the falls. The falls can be seen from the highway, but take the time to make the short hike to the base of this waterfall to enjoy its beauty and majesty.
Directions:
Located seven miles south of Hana at Mile Marker #45 off the Hana Highway.
Useful Information:
Be careful when walking on the paths to the falls as they are often damp and slippery.
Wailua Falls is best in the morning when the sun is shining on it.
Water flow varies depending on recent rainfall but this waterfall is usually beautiful at any time
