3957 Hansen Road, Puunene, Central Maui


The Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum provides education about the early years of plantation life and how and why various cultures immigrated to Hawaii. The museum itself was once the home of a "luna" (supervisor) who was responsible for overseeing the plantation workers. Many cultures immigrated to Hawaii to work on the plantation making Hawaii the melting pot it is today.


Useful Information:

Open Monday through Saturday, 9:30am - 4:30pm.

Admission: Adults, $5; Children age 6-17, $2.

Educational programs for school children.

Located across the street from Maui's largest operational sugar mill.

Exhibit galleries, artifacts, collectibles.

Gift shop and picnic area.

Library for researchers.


Directions:

Take Highway 350 south from Kahului Harbor. Turn left on Hansen Road. The Sugar Mill Museum is on the right.
