This ten-acre recreation area is 6,200 feet above sea level in the Kula Forest Reserve. Polipoli Springs is an upcountry park with towering trees and stunning views of the Maui lowlands and the neighboring islands of Lana'i and Kaho'olawe (a protected bird sanctuary). Polipoli Springs is most notable for its mature forest of redwood trees and other exotic native Hawaiian trees such as plum, cypress, sugi, and ash. Extensive trail systems transverse the reserve. Thousands of feet above sea level, there are no mosquitoes in the area, but the temperatures can get quite cold.
