Kipahulu, East Maui
This fabulous waterfall is an easy one to view as it is located right beside the road. A small cross stands among lush vegetation beside falls. The cross is a memorial to Helio Koaeloa, one of the earliest Hawaiian Catholic priests on Maui.
Directions:
Take Hana Highway southwest from the town of Hana toward Kiahulu. The cross and waterfall is located on the right just before Mile Marker #45.
Useful Information:
Flow of the waterfall is greatly dependent on the amount of recent rainfall
Good views of the waterfall from Hana Highway
Trail to the cross is dangerous and slippery
