Hana Highway
The Pokowai Sea Arch can be seen from the shoreline
past Mile Marker #29 on the Hana Highway. The sea arch is
made of lava that flowed out of the volcano and into the
sea. As it quickly hardened in the cold Pacific waters,
the lava formed into an arch. Sea arches can be seen along
the shoreline in several places on each island - each of
various sizes and heights - each a small natural wonder.
