Dickenson and Waine'e Street
Downtown Lahaina
This grand Roman Catholic Cathedral is the largest in
West Maui. The first Mass was celebrated on Maui in 1841
when French traders came to the island. There has been
a Catholic Church on this site since 1846. This structure
was built in 1928. Influences of Frech cathedrals are
evident in its designs such as the long, sweeping columns
and the tall Gothic steeple.
