It was along the little street that the funeral procession
of Princess Nahi'ena'ena passed in 1837, bringing to a close
the tragic life of a princess. Caught between the Western
world and the ancient ways, she alternately worshipped a
Christian God while yearning after the old ways, including
marrying her brother, King Kamehameha III.
