The site is also home to the Pi'ilanihale heiau, one of
the largest ancient Hawaiian stone temples in the islands.
Built over 500 years ago, the stone platform, 341 feet by
415 feet with a 50-foot high front wall, was a place of
worship and is still intact. The "Canoe Garden" features
27 species of plants brought to Hawaii in the ancient Hawaiian's
voyaging canoes.
