4x4 Half Day Trekker is an island Trek highlighting Lanai’s most spectacular scenery for a comfortable and unique adventure in an air-conditioned safari-style Suburban or Jeep Cherokee. Expeditions offers our exclusive 4x4 Trekker guided tours. Your day starts when you board Expeditions fast passenger ferry to Lana`i from the main loading pier at Lahaina Harbor. During your 45 minute voyage across the Auau channel you will enjoy open ocean viewing of all the islands in Maui County, including Maui, Moloka`i, Kahoolawe, Molokini and, of course, Lanai. You`ll be met upon arrival at Manele Harbor by one of the guides and be oriented to the lowland area on the way to their shop in Lana`i City. After picking up any gear you need at the shop, your adventure begins!

The experienced guide knows the terrain, the flora and fauna, the stories and legends - and share them over the course of the tour. All tour vehicles are designed for your ultimate safety and comfort, and the tour can be as active or relaxing as you like. Generally you`ll travel in a roomy, air conditioned , 4 wheel drive vehicle. You will experience a unique ironwood forest, where the wind is the only voice you`ll hear, on your way to the `Gardens of the Gods` - a stunning, natural red rock formation in the crater that often expires visions of a visit to Mars. Other highlights MAY include: “Shipwreck Beach”, where the breathtaking views of Molokai are interrupted only by the ship, towering just off shore, which brought this beach it`s name; and ancient Petroglyphs.( Note: All portions of the tour are Weather Permitting; Customized tours subject to tour operators discretion and road conditions). Throughout the tour, your guide will educate and entertain you with facts stories - and special requests for photo stops, diversions to other locations and specific information are welcome!

4X4 Half Day Trekker Times Available 6:45am, 9:15am and 12:45pm

Reservations: Advance reservations required. All passengers first and last names required, no initials please, including children and non-paying infants.

Check In Time: Passengers must check in 30 minutes prior to departure time. Ferry departs on schedule and does not wait for late passengers.

Pier Location: Depart from the main loading pier at Lahaina Harbor, across from the Pioneer Inn Hotel. (Lahaina Harbor, Front Street, behind the Banyan tree).

Taxi/Shuttle Service: For day guests, Lana'i City Service offers ground transportation from Manele Harbor on Lana'i. Fees are between $5 - 10.00 per person, one way, depending on drop off location. Ground transportation shuttles meet all arriving vessels in the harbor and are available to day guests on a space available basis, unless other arrangements are confirmed. Package travelers are guaranteed space on these shuttles for transport to and from their package destination.
