off Wailea Alanui Drive, East Maui
Oneuili means "dark sand" and the sand of this beach is actually cinder from volcanic eruptions. This beach is great for exploring the geological aspects of Maui. A nearby trail leads to the top of a cindercone. The ocean here is filled with marine life and great topographical structures.

Cautions:
Monitor ocean conditions closely. Strong currents and high surf may occur here at any time during the year. Rock and reef hazards are present. The dark colored sand gets very hot - wear shoes on the beach. Obey all postings and warnings.
