From Lanai City to Northeast Coast
One of only two highways on Lanai, this highway is also called Keomuku Road. It travels northeast through the lush rain forest and mountain area of the island and then descends to the ocean at Shipwreck Beach. This highway is only 8 miles long but it is one of the most beautiful drives on the island. The well-known Munro Trail starts off this road just a mile north of Lanai City. Highway 44 is paved but many interesting roads leading to the Garden of the Gods, Shipwreck Beach, and the Munro Trail are not. Be sure to check on the condition of the unpaved roads before attempting to drive on them.

Directions:

Highway 44 leads north out of Lanai City, past Koele Lodge, and then heads east toward Shipwreck Beach.
