This quaint little wooden church church was built
during the Plantation Days of the late 1800's and
early 1900's as a place for Hawaiian religious services.
Today the church still holds Sunday services spoken
in Hawaiian.
Located in front of the Lodge
at Koele, the church is surrounded by stately
Norfolk Pines and situated atop a beautiful, grassy
hill.

DIRECTIONS: Go north out of Lanai City on Highway 44. The
church is located in front of and to the left of
the Lodge at Koele Resort.
This tiny church seems somewhat out of
place as it located on the grounds of a large, modern
resort.
The church is over 100 years old
and is a reminder of a very different life when Lanai
City was a bustling Plantation Town..
Situated among some of the tallest Norfolk
Pines on the island, the church setting makes a beautiful
picture.
