Munro Trail

The pinetress wick water out of the clouds which drips into the underground aquaducts to provide fresh water for the island.

In the late 1700's a terrible battle was fought in these gulches between Lanai and Big Island warriors.

Rich, red, lava soil lends itself to lush vegetation growth.

From the Lanaihale Overlook you can peer 2000-feet down into the Hauola Gulch.

The lush rainforest give way to mountain scrub as the altitude increases.

The summit of Munro Trail is Mount Lanaihale, meaning House of Lanai". It reaches 3,370 feet above the island.

Fingers of ridges support the growth for thousands of Cook Island Pines, the life-blood of Lanai.

On a clear day, 6 islands can often be seen from the summit: O'ahu, Molokai, Maui, Kaho'olawe, Big Island, and, of course, Lanai.

Beauty in nature as far as the eye can see!
