This museum houses a treasure of the island's heritage, everything from feathered leis to vintage photographs. A permanent display is called The Story of Lana'i and is filled with Hawaiian artifacts and history of the past. Traveling exhibits and events are also hosted here year-round. Behind the museum, on Ewa Street, is the state offices where hiking and camping permits can be obtained.

Directions:

Take Highway 50 into Lihu'e from Puhi. The road becomes Highway 56, Kuhio Highway. Turn right on Rice Street at Mile Marker #0. The Kauai Museum is two blocks down on the left.
