This narrow passage between the mountains above Po'ipu is known at Knudsen Gap. In the 1800's, this was a dangerous trip as robbers could easily ambush a traveler going through the narrow pass. Today, it is just another beautiful scenic site on the Garden Isle.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 50 from Lawa'i toward Lihu'e. This mountain pass can be seen on the left between Mile Marker #8 - 8.
