This great sand beach fronts Kalihiwai Bay. During the summer months, the ocean is usually calm and swimming is good here, even for the kids.

During the winter the waves make this spot popular with surfers. Shady Ironwoods trees make this beach comfortable for picnicing and relaxing.

CAUTIONS:
Seasonal strong currents, dangerous shorebreak, slippery rocks and sharp coral.

DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 56 west from Kilauea toward Princeville. Turn right on Kalihiwai Road just before Mile Marker # 24. Parking is located near the end of the road.
