Built in 1922 as a vaudeville house it was complete with
orchestra pit and dressing rooms. Later the building became
a movie theater. Closed for a number of years, the theater
was renovated and reopened in May, 1996, as a 1,400-seat multipurpose
performance facility. It is designed to accommodate concerts
and musical theater as well as the revered Hawaii International
Film Festival. |
