The Battleship Missouri was launched on January 29, 1944 and had a career that spanned five decades. "Mighty Mo" is a an Iowa class battleship measuring three football fields in length. She was built for speed and firepower. On September 2, 1945, the formal surrender papers were signed on the decks of this ship by Japan bringing an end to WWII.

It seems most fitting that the beginning and end of this infamous war should stand side by side in the same harbor. The battleship was decommissioned in 1998. Today visitors can walk her decks, tour sailor's quarters, and view the famed Surrender Deck.
