Detailed Description
Highway 19, West Hawaii
This sandy beach is fronted by a rocky lava shelf making swimming poor in this bay. The best beach area is located in front of the Kona Village Resort. The entire bay is surrounded by sand and palm trees but the surf is often rough. Be sure to monitor ocean conditions carefully before entering the water here. The rocky lava shelf makes access difficult, slippery and dangerous.
The views are very nice here but there are better beaches along this coast.
The bay is open to the ocean so the surf is often rough making swimming dangerous.
