Detailed Description
Highway 137, East Hawaii
This beach is located on the eastern edge of Pohoiki Bay. Swimming is poor due to strong currents and wave action. Local fisherman use the area to launch their boats. There is a shoreline trail to the right of the boat launch that veers inland. Follow this trail for about 150 yards. Approximately 50 feet from the ocean is another natural warm pool. This small isolated pool is surrounded by vines and a tropical jungle. Bring insect repellent as mosquitos can be bad here, but the view is amazing.
The still, spring water of this geothermal pool perfectly reflect the surrounding trees and sky.
Beautiful views of the ocean and boat launch area from the warm pool.
The water is so still and clear, it is hard to tell where ground ends and the pool begins!
