This beach is located about 1 mile south of Wawaloi
Beach Park. However, unlike the the protected
tidepools of Wawaloi, Pine Trees is the primo surfing
site of the island.
The area is often crowded as it is very
popular with the locals. There is no actual parking lot,
but a 4-wheel drive road traverses the entire beach area.
Useful Information:
Poor swimming due to high surf
Sand and rocks
No facilities
No lifeguards
Excellent surfing
DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 19 just north of Kona Airport. Turn left near Mile
Marker #94. The road veers to the right to reach Wawaloi Beach.
Just past this point is a 4-wheel drive road to the south. Follow
this road approximately 1 mile along the beach front.
