North Kohala
This small cove is renowned for its excelling coral and
scuba diving possibilities. Water depths reach about 40
feet and access from the right is fairly easy when the
water is calm.

From the fenced parking lot there is a
2-3 minute walk down a dirt road to the beach. The water
is crystal clear, however, as always, monitor the surf conditions
carefully before entering.

- Usually calm during summer months
- No facilities
- No lifeguards

DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 270 north from Kawaihae. Just before Mile Marker
#5 turn right on the dirt road leading to the ocean. Jeep
travelers can drive the dirt road to the beach. Otherwise,
the walk is about 100 yards. |

| Beautiful, crystal clear water makes this an excellent spot
for snorkeling and scuba diving. |

During the week, the area is often deserted.
