Po'ipu Road
Po'ipu, South Kauai
Po'ipu is the major beach on the South Shore. Swimming
here is almost always safe especially on the left
side of the beach. A small strip of sand divides
this section of the beach from the rest.

This sandbar is actually an unusual
phenomena that occurs when ocean currents rush toward
the beach from opposite directions and deposit their
sand forming a tombolo. This one is called Nukumoi
Point.
